As Schnucks moves to focus on its supermarkets, its c-stores get new ownership.
Schnucks Express convenience stores in Champaign, Urbana and Savoy, Ill. have been acquired by Wallis Oil Co. of Cuba, Mo., which will begin running the stores on May 2.
The News-Gazette reported that Schnucks plans to focus on its supermarket, which it considers its core business.
Despite the change of hands, Schnucks’ popular fuel rewards program will continue at the three gas stations under the new management. Employees at the Express stores will be offered jobs at nearby supermarkets.
