According to a recent report from The Japan Times, Seven-Eleven Japan has plans to open more than 10,000 stores throughout the U.S., increasing the company’s total store count in the country from 8,500 to 20,000.
In addition to expanding in the U.S., The Japan Times reported that Seven-Eleven Japan also has plans to expand its Japan footprint from 19,000 to 20,000 stores next year.
Seven-Eleven Japan is confident in its expansions and believes that its high quality products added to the convenience that consumers crave will help the company to thrive in both the U.S. and the Japanese markets. The company has evolved so that it no longer appeals mainly to lower-income individuals, as the quality of goods has improved. According to the report from The Japan Times, the U.S. unit of Seven-Eleven Japan believes that it will soon be able to double its average daily sales per shop
