Following Act 39, Sheetz begins wine sales in Pennsylvania.
A Sheetz store in central Pennsylvania has become the first convenience store in Pennsylvania to sell wine, according to Pittsburgh’s Action 4 News.
The move comes after the passing of Act 39 in June, which widened the number and types of private businesses that can sell beer, wine and liquor in the state of Pennsylvania. Previously, only liquor stores owned and operated by the state could sell wine in Pennsylvania.
A Sheetz store on East King Street in Shippensburg sold the first bottle of wine.
Other Sheetz locations in Pennsylvania are also set to offer wine sales.
