The funds help support scholarships for engineering students.
Representatives of CPD Energy Corp. and ExxonMobil Corp. presented a $3,000 check to the SUNY New Paltz Foundation in support of scholarships for engineering students.
The check was presented at a meeting held recently with Dr. Donald Christian, SUNY New Paltz president, and Erica Marks, vice president Office of Development and Alumni Relations and executive director of the SUNY New Paltz Foundation.
Additionally, in a separate presentation CPD Energy Corp. presented the Foundation with a check in the amount of $5,000 to further its activities in support of students and programs.
CPD Energy Corp. is a privately-owned gasoline station and convenience store retailer based in New Paltz, N.Y. The company is actively involved in over 300 fueling facilities in six northeast states.
The company is locally-owned and operated by the Jamal Family. Established on Chestnut St. in New Paltz N.Y. in 1981, CPD CEO and SUNY New Paltz Foundation Board Director (and First Vice Chair), Ahmed (Mickey) Jamal and his family have been active supporters of many charitable organizations in the Hudson Valley and elsewhere in the tri-state area since its inception.
