Chipotle continues to struggle with food safety issues after a Powell, Ohio location leaves customers sick, and a Columbus-area restaurant violates health codes.
Chipotle Mexican Grill is once again facing closures due to food safety issues.
A Chipotle in Powell, Ohio closed this week following “a handful of illness reports,” according to the New York Post. A spokesperson for the restaurant told the newspaper the chain was working with local health officials to reopen the restaurant as soon as possible.
New CEO Brian Niccol told Fox Business earlier this week about the company’s plans to bounce back after the major public relations issues the chain fast over the last two years when hundreds of customers became ill after eating the chain’s food.
A report by BusinessInsider noted the Chipotle is under investigation by the health department. On July 26, a Chipotle in a Columbus suburb was found to be in violation of rules related to food-holding temperature.
