Holiday food drive benefits Maryland Food Bank.
High’s and Carroll Fuel hosted an annual food drive to benefit the Maryland Food Bank during the holiday season. High’s collected almost 4,000 pounds of food to donate to the food bank in 2018; which is more than double the previous year’s donation.
The Food Drive began just before Thanksgiving and continued until the end of 2018. Boxes were placed at each store as well as the corporate office to collect customer and employee food donations. High’s worked with Fresh Creative Cuisine for pick-up and delivery to the Maryland Food Bank. Fresh Creative Cuisine, who aided in delivery in 2017, was happy participate again this year. They were able to collect boxed up donations from store managers during their scheduled delivery times and hold donations at their warehouse until the food drive concluded
High’s is always looking for opportunities to give back to its communities and get involved; from working with the American Red Cross to support relief efforts, the American Cancer Society to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness and the Maryland Food Bank to help feed the local communities. High’s operates 48 convenience stores in Mid-Atlantic states.
