Family members donated $10,000, doubling the reward Crime Alert Berks County will pay for information leading to an arrest in connection with the killing of 55-year-old Gary William Redner, the convenience store and supermarket operator slain at his Pennsylvania home last weekend.
Redner, who was divorced with two adult children, was found dead Sunday at his stately red brick home in Lower Heidelberg Township. He lived alone.
The reward had stood at $10,000 until the family upped the ante to $20,000, the Allentown Morning Call reported.
Redner helped his family run Redner’s Wholesale Markets, a regional chain founded by his father. He served as executive vice president of the Reading, Pa.-based company, which operates 39 grocery stores and a dozen convenience stores.
