Seibert’s Donates to BP’s ‘Fueling Communities’ Program

This past June, Seibert’s fueling stations was able to donate over $6,000 to the Richmond Mayor’s Youth Academy, giving the education and youth-based program more support for mentoring and training local children for post-secondary education or vocation.

Now, with the support of BP’s “Fueling Communities” Program, the Richmond, Va.-based fuel wholesale, service station, towing and body shop services company, Seibert’s is donating once again to local non-profit, First Things First of Greater Richmond.

“First Things First is blessed to have the support of Seibert’s and BP as we invest ‘upstream’ in the Richmond area to build healthy relationships and strengthen families,” said Jeff Ukrop, executive director. “With the help of Seibert’s, our national programs which have proven to minimize non-marital pregnancies and dating violence can raise awareness over time.”

A local non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families through education, collaboration and mobilization, First Things First of Greater Richmond will use the donation from Seibert’s to facilitate healthy relationship workshops and teach at-risk teens about communication and smart steps for building healthy relationships.

“This organization truly makes a difference in our local community,” says Randy Seibert, President of Seibert’s, who currently serves on the First Things First Board. “With the support of BP’s ‘Fueling Communities’ Program, we can work together with First Things First to raise awareness of their issues on a much larger scale.”

Through BP’s “Fueling Communities” program, BP directly grants funding every year to over 11,000 of its local BP Station owners, including Seibert’s to support a local organization’s efforts in health, education, youth and housing. Other organizations that have received similar funding from BP at their community levels include United Way, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Children’s Miracle Network.

Seibert’s Family of Cos. is the parent company of several Richmond-based businesses in the automotive industry: Seibert’s Towing, ‘BERTS Buck Stop Convenience Stores and Better Day Cafes, Seibert’s Auto Auction, Seibert’s Body Shop and Seibert’s Wholesale Fuels. The company was founded in 1976 by John Seibert when he opened his first service station in the Manchester district of Richmond, Va.
