Fresh & Easy teams up with Kraft Foods, LPGA legends to give young golfers the experience of a lifetime.

Amy Alcott, Nancy Lopez and Kathy Whitworth are set to lead a hall-of-fame field back to Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., for the second annual fresh&easy Charity Pro-Am on March 25, 2012, and the inaugural fresh&easy-Kraft Foods Legacy Junior Challenge on March 27, 2012.

“We are very excited to welcome back the LPGA greats for an exciting charity pro-am and pro-junior event to kick off tournament week,” said Tim Mason, CEO of Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market. “We are honored to celebrate the incredibly rich history of women’s golf at the Kraft Nabisco Championship while also providing an incredible opportunity for young female golfers to play with their idols and the game’s best.”

The fresh&easy Charity Pro-Am, which was created by Alcott and Mason in 2011, will be played on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course and feature a maximum 20 teams, with each foursome being led by an LPGA Tour and World Golf Hall of Fame member or LPGA major/multi-event winner. The fresh&easy-Kraft Foods Legacy Junior Challenge will be played on the Arnold Palmer Course and feature 20 teams consisting of one LPGA member and one female junior golfer. The junior field for youth ages 13-17 will be selected in conjunction with the Southern California Golf Association. Both events help launch golf’s first major championship of the season, the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

“The Kraft Nabisco Championship has enjoyed a wonderful tradition of providing playing opportunities for some of today’s most talented young golfers,” said David Blake Thomas, executive director & chairman, Kraft Nabisco Championship. “Kraft Foods is thrilled to partner with our friends at Fresh & Easy on the fresh&easy-Kraft Foods Legacy Junior Challenge. This opportunity will provide young golfers a chance to experience playing with LPGA legends as well as providing a truly special event for our fans to see the legends of the past 40 years.”
