Frigoglass, for the third consecutive time, was awarded at the Greek scheme of the European Business Awards for the Environment organized by the Greek Association of Environmental Protection Cos., under the auspices of the European Union. Frigoglass received the 2nd prize in the “product” category for the EcoCantina, a turnkey solution that is a result of the company’s long-term investment in environmental innovation. The EcoCantina, a modular, easy-to-assemble kiosk, is powered by solar energy and supports the operation not only of the coolers placed in the kiosk but that of other devices, such as a television and mobile chargers. This solution was developed with an aim to provide cold drink availability in remote areas with limited electricity. It addresses two key sustainability issues as it minimizes the impact on the environment while it allows beverage companies to contribute to remote communities by offering them a place for social meetings and engagement.
