The Essential Baking Co. has introduced its Essential Fresh Seal (EFS) Concept using Modify Atmosphere Packaging, which offers a 180-day shelf life from production, allowing for 100-plus days of shelf life at delivery — never frozen — in a category that usually has three to five days of shelf life once thawed. Due to their extended shelf life, these items present an opportunity that wasn’t previously available for artisan breads in the c-store channel. The EFS Concept eliminates spoils, waste, cold transportation and cold storage. In addition, the items come pre-date coded, allowing for minimal labor in store.
The ESF Artisan Bread Portfolio includes Take & Bake Breads, 12-ounce Baguette, 16-ounce Rosemary Loaf, 16-ounce Sourdough Loaf, 16-ounce Italian Loaf, 14-ounce Demi Baguettes, 16-ounce French Loaf and 16-ounce Pre-Sliced Pre-Seasoned Garlic Bread.
